Newfoundland Birding Tours that Benefit Conservation
Unique Guided Birding Tours
Birding by Season’s tours are relaxed and personal. Your host, Janice, brings her First Nations heritage and passion for birds and protecting natures’ gifts to every tour. Together you will explore beautiful beaches with sculpted sand dunes. Boreal forests. Salt marshes. A unique estuary. One of the oldest tree fossil beds in the world. A rare limestone barrens. It’s all waiting for you in Southwestern Newfoundland!
We offer guided single and multi-day birding tours for individuals and small groups:
- Intimate tours, with group sizes of up to 8 people (plus your guide)
- Tours can be customized at a pace set by you
- Offered year round
- We focus on the protection of birds and their habitats
- A picnic-style lunch is included
All tours begin and end in Stephenville – 2 hours from the Port aux Basques Ferry, 1.5 hours from Deer Lake Airport or fly into Stephenville Airport.
For now, all guided tours at Birding by Season are private, self-drive tours (your guide will be in a separate car). You can customize a guided tour or if you are looking for a bit more freedom, we can prepare a flexible, Do-it-Yourself tour for you or your bubble. If you are planning to stay in the area and would like to combine tours, we would be happy to assist you with overnight accommodations and your vehicle rental, if you require one.
